Raised within an Eorzean jungle typical to most Rava males, Eyvin was fairly unremarkable for most of his early years. He got along well with other children of his tribe and was fairly skittish in nature. When he was finally old enough, he was taken to join the Wood-Warders as typical of Rava males and finally began his early weapons training. While initially reluctant, he grew quite comfortable with conflict at a surprising pace and even seemed to grow unnatural proficient the more he participated. By the time he graduated from standard training dummies to living hunts, he had developed a thirst for battle. He grew no satisfaction from passive prey that could be felled with ease and instead sought out dangers that could meet him on equal footing. Sometimes he would emerge victorious from these bouts and others he would return home beaten and battered. But never was he discouraged, always seeking out the next conflict with renewed vigor upon recovery. As he immersed himself in more struggles, he gradually lost control of his actions as if guided by another influence. He allowed baser instincts to take hold and lashed out with unprompted rage at the creatures he faced off with.During an assignment to curb an unyielding stampede trampling through their home, his mentor paired him with another fresh Warder to redirect the tide away from their homes. Opting to dissuade the beasts through the means he often favored, he took to battle. But with the growing number of beasts he slew, his ferocity grew to match his count. His partner, noticing something was off, attempted to pull him back from the conflict. Spurred into a frenzy and lapsing in judgement, Eyvin lashed out and seriously injured the trainee with the back of his axe head. Snapping out of his battle high, dread crept upon the Rava and he retreated whilst carrying his defeated companion. Returning home, he confessed both that not only was the mission failed but he had been the cause of the serious injury his fellow had sustained. Concern was clear written on the expression of his elder who encouraged Eyvin to distance himself and meditate on the cause of his acts. Accepting this not as a suggestion but instead punishment, Eyvin did so by secluding himself to the hunting grounds of large predators.Months turned to years in his isolation. Occasionally others would stumble upon the Viera resting or in the heat of battle, but respected the distance he set and chose to leave him with little if any words spoken. Eyvin reflected deeply upon himself and the battles he participated in during this time to try gaining understanding for his primal fury. Yet despite knowing something else stirred within himself, he could not find understanding. Realizing that the beast fought for control as much as he did, he began suppressing himself entirely. He would lock away his joy for battle or struggle to starve the beast for what it craved. While his abilities diminished as a result, he was able to firmly remain in control. Eventually it grew to the point he no longer beat for the violence he had previously craved. He had leashed his beast, keeping it locked tightly to prevent it ever lashing out at his allies again. He emerged from the hunting grounds he fashioned for himself. Yet he could not find himself answering the call of his home anymore either as guilt flooded his mind over his past act. His inability to remain in either of the homes he had claimed before lead him to strike out into the civilizations that populated Eorzea instead, hoping that he could flee from his chagrin.Unfortunately his seclusion had not permitted him to cultivate many skills and his talents did not lend to the civilized world except for few professions. Forced to fall back to what he knew, Eyvin offered himself as a guard or freelancer to whomever would pay as he made his way through the regions. Eventually ending up in Ul'dah, he found his talents employed by seedy mercantile hoping to muscle out their competition. Living on scraps without any vision of his future, he eventually was defeated by a group of adventurers hired to arrest his corrupt employer. Accepting his defeat at their hands, he surrendered himself to the group. But despite his involvement, their leader instead offered him a chance to redeem himself by working to apprehend the corrupt merchant. While initially dismissive of redemption, he would later arrive when things looked grim to aid them and assisted in the completion of their commission. While he intended to be handed to the authorities alongside his employer, the party instead released him and advised him to find honest work. Not wishing to take their generosity for granted, Eyvin chose to take up adventuring himself and worked to make amends for his prior misdeeds.During his time as an adventurer, Eyvin often drifted between solo work and fleeting partnerships with other groups. His lack of social skills and choice to limit himself while fighting made it difficult for others to work with him. In turn, Eyvin struggled to understand those of his parties and found their input in battle an additional distraction along with restraining himself. Eventually he would shift primarily as a freelancer for the Eorzea united front in the Garlean conflict. As the war raged however, a deep rage would begin to develop over time at the atrocities committed by Garlemald towards Eorzean citizens. His prior fury grew less restrained over time as he leaned into the strength from his rage more and more in the increasingly dire situations he found himself. Eventually his episodes would return as he set himself upon the enemy with renewed ferocity. This time less inclined to restrain himself as long as he is aware who he is setting himself upon.
